So what are these events? MAST recruits some local individuals to tell stories on a theme. We gather and have people stand up in front of an audience and tell us their story. MAST records all the stories to share with those that are not able to make it. Each event is unique in the storytellers, stories, and atmosphere.

How did this originate? This all started when Julie and Ben Walker decided that the people of southwest Minnesota needed to a space to share their stories. They loved performances from The Moth and wanted to try something similar where they live: Marshall, MN. The couple founded the organization and created events for local storytelling.
